Police: Newtown Man Caught Naked After Attacking Family
A Newtown man accused of attacking a family member was apprehended by police while running naked through his neighborhood.
In what seems like some extremely bizarre behavior, a Newtown man that police say attacked a family member, is believed to have ran naked through his neighborhood before being caught and taken into police custody.
On Monday at around 10:00 PM, Newtown Police were called to a residence on Bonnie Brae Dr. to investigate a report of a family dispute. Police say the alleged suspect, identified as 26-year-old Kevin McCarthy, is reported to have attacked a family member then apparently fled the scene naked.
Police then received a call from a resident who lives about two miles from the site of the alleged attack about a man, who reportedly fit McCarthy's description, on their deck completely naked.
Police say they apprehended McCarthy and charged him with Disorderly Conduct, Strangulation/Suffocate 3rd Degree, and 3rd Degree Assault on an elderly victim.
McCarthy was held on a $10,000 bond and was scheduled yesterday to appear in court.
According to Newtown Police, the victim of the attack by McCarthy refused medical attention.
