More illegal prescription drugs are off of the streets in Danbury today (December 6) as the result of a weeks-long investigation by the Danbury Police Department.

According to a press release from the DPD, members of the Special Investigations Division (SID), along with the Patrol Division and the SWAT Team executed search and seizure warrants that were issued as a result of an investigation that began several weeks ago.

Today at around 10:00 AM, 38-year-old Corey Heath of Danbury was stopped in the driveway of his home. The report says that while officers moved in to arrest Heath, the SWAT team entered the resident, temporarily seizing several people that were inside.

Following a search of the home, Heath's cell phone, and his car, police say that they turned up illegal prescription narcotics, an undisclosed amount of marijuana that was packaged for sale, and several thousand dollars that is believed to be evidence.

Corey Heath was arrested and transported to the Danbury Police Department where he was charged with possession with intent to sell and risk of injury to a child among other drug charges. He was held on $150,000 bond.
