Bethel police are reporting that they have arrested and charged a local women with reckless endangerment.

Late last week, 44-year-old Graciela Rojas-Amon had reportedly left her three year old unattended when the child left the home and began to wander down Grassy Plain Street in Bethel.

The child was spotted and police were called with a report that a young child was alone and walking down the street unattended, and with no shoes on.

According to newstimes.com, after making contact with the mother and the child, police determined that the mother "deliberately left the child unattended, and in the time frame that the child was alone, the toddler wandered off and left the family residence."

Rojas-Amon was arrested and taken into custody and has been charged with second degree reckless endangerment. She was released on a promise to appear for arraignment tomorrow, Friday January 29.
