Even though the weather isn't going to be great this weekend, I have a feeling it will be busy at the Pleasant Valley Drive-In in Barkhamsted. The movie theater has announced its opening weekend, and that's great news for us stir-crazy social distancers.

The theater's 2020 season opens with a double bill of "Trolls World Tour" and "Invisible Man." The first movie will start around 8:15 PM. Gates open at 6:30. Admission is $10 ages 13 and up, and $5 for kids aged 6-12. Friday is $20 carload night. Admission payment is cash only.

The Drive-In announced its set of rules for moviegoers, and asked customers to please comply so that they will be allowed to remain open.

One car will be allowed between sets of poles or pylons. Moviegoers must stay in their vehicle. This will change after May 20, when you will be allowed to sit outside directly in front of your own car.

At the concession stand, one window will be for ordering only and a second one for pickup only. 6 foot distancing markers will be in place.

Only one person will be allowed in the restroom at any given time. The line will form outside the door with 6 foot distancing makers.

The Pleasant Valley Drive-In is at 47 River Road in Barkhamsted. Their phone number is (860) 379-6102. With the weather being iffy especially Friday, I would recommend calling or checking their Facebook page to make sure they will definitely be open before making the drive, as it's about an hour from Greater Danbury.

Connecticut has 2 other Drive-In theaters remaining. The Southington Drive-In is scheduled to open on June 1, and the Mansfield Drive-In has not announced an opening date yet.
