Mrs. Large and I love to get some fresh air, and pick our own fruit. One of our favorite things to do is to shop at local orchards, farms and stands. You can't beat the taste of just-harvested corn on the cob, a huge bag of apples just plucked from the tree, and veggies with the dirt still on them. We've heard so many sad stories throughout this pandemic about the plight of the American farmer, and all of the the crops that are going to waste due to the coronavirus. I think it's more important now than ever to support these local families and farms.

All of these orchards and farm stands have social distancing and safety protocols in place, but you might want to Google their websites before you head out for individual information, hours and protocols. I gathered up 5 different Orchards to check out on a weekend day trip around our area. Pick me up some fresh zucchini and apples while you're picking your own, and try to get lost in the corn mazes, it's fun.
