Please lend a hand today wherever you can.

Today is a global day of giving. Now that you've perhaps shopped like crazy on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, givingtuesday.org would love for you to keep the spirit of giving alive.

#GivingTuesday is celebrated here in the U.S. on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving. #GivingTuesday is a focused way to kick off the charitable season of reaching out to others via contributions of money, as well as your time. I'm sure you have thoughts on where you'd like to help out in your community, but givingtuesday.org has put together a directory on their website to help you find organizations, charities, events and more right where you live.

For as long as I've been working here, I know how generous our listeners are. Now the statistics website wallethub.com, is helping to confirm that fact. While we can always do more, we still should be proud of ourselves as a nation. According to wallethub.com, Americans are among the world’s most generous people, ranking No. 5 out of 140 countries.

Their rankings also found that out of 50 states, Connecticut comes in #11 overall in our charitable ways. We rank #14 overall in volunteerism and #10 overall in opening up our wallets in regards to giving to charities.

We certainly saw people's generosity first hand recently with our annual Camping For Cans event. Now with Christmas right around the corner, we'd like to remind you that we are under way with our annual Christmas Wish to help out children in our local communities that would go without this season if not for you. If you'd like to participate, please call our office at 203 - 775 - 1212 - Monday through Friday - during regular business hours, to get the name and age of a child in need. We even have some ideas from each child's Christmas Wish list.

Thanks in advance. I know you'll do us proud once again.
