Officials Give the Go-Ahead for 9/11 Tribute in Light Memorial

The Tribute in Light Memorial originally canceled has been resurrected for next month's 9/11 anniversary.

Six months after the twin towers of the World Trade Center were brought down by terrorists on September 11, 2001, New York City introduced the Tribute in Light Memorial in remembrance of the 9/11 attacks.

The New York Times currently reported that New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo, said the state will provide the manpower which includes the health personnel and supervision that is needed to operate the Tribute in Light Memorial safely and effectively despite the coronavirus pandemic. The 9/11 Memorial and Museum President and CEO, Alice M. Greenwald, stated,

"for the last eight years, the 9/11 Memorial and Museum has produced the Tribute in Light and we recognize the profound meaning it has for so many New Yorkers. This year, its message of hope, endurance, and resilience are more important than ever."
