New Fairfield / Sherman Animal Welfare Society Seeks Public Help to Find Foster Home for Dogs Affected By Hurricane Debby
Anytime a storm hits, I always think about stray animals outside as well as ones that get affected when the owner's homes get destroyed. It's a terrible situation and something I hope to never have to live through.
When big storms like this happen, you see a lot of posts from shelters looking for dogs to be rehomed or fostered while they try to figure their situations out. A lot of local shelters get completely full when storms come through and they have no other choice but to ask the public for some help.
This same scenario came from one of our local shelters. The New Fairfield / Sherman Animal Welfare Society (NFSAW) has posted an urgent message looking for someone to foster a 3-year old dog and her 3-week old pups. The dog and her 4 puppies are in urgent need of a home, but the shelter is running into an issue because they have no space for these dogs currently.
A shelter that was impacted by tropical storm Debby is looking for these pups to get a new life up north, so a foster home is currently needed. The 3-year old pup Rose is said to be a wonderful dog who is good with kids, people and other dogs. Also, NFSAW will supply all medical care and supply while the dogs are being fostered.
If you are interested in fostering these adorable pups, they have an application you can fill out on their website. I wish I had enough space to foster all of the pups and get them into loving homes. Every pup deserves to be loved and treated like family. I hope they are able to find home for these adorable little ones!
