A local police department says another young man's life was saved after a suspected overdose.

According to a social media post from the Newtown Police Department, officers responded to the intersection at Huntington Rd. and Meadowbrook Rd. at around 11:00 PM on Monday, February 25, after receiving a report of a motor vehicle accident in that area that involved one car. The vehicle reportedly drove up onto the lawn of a person's home and then quickly fled the scene.

The responding officers say they then located the vehicle in question stopped in the middle of Castle Meadow Road with the car in gear. When officers approached the car, they say they found a man who appeared to be in his early-20s unresponsive and slumped over in the driver's seat.

Suspecting that the young man was experiencing a drug overdose, the responding officers opened the vehicle and used the Narcan that they had on hand.

Thankfully, the man's life was saved and he was taken to the hospital for more treatment.

This incident remains under investigation by the Newtown Police Department and comes just over one month after a very similar reportedly drug related overdose that took place in January of this year.
