A new study looked to see which US States love true crime the most and Connecticut was a standout.

Privacy Journal scoured internet data to compile the list, and these are the Top 10 states that love true crime the most:

1. Massachusetts
2. New York
3. Nevada
4. Colorado
5. Illinois
6. Connecticut
7. Washington
8. North Carolina
9. New Hampshire
10. Texas

Washington D.C. was the #1 region overall, but I decided to just present the Top 10 states in order.

That is not all the study uncovered, here are some other key takeaways:

Five of the bottom eight states in this ranking (indicating they are the least obsessed with true crime) are in the South: West Virginia, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi and Georgia.
Searches related to OJ Simpson in the “famous murder cases” and “celebrity deaths” categories are the highest across the board.
Among the most searched for serial killers are Jeffrey Dahmer, Ted Bundy, Ed Gein, John Wayne Gacy, Aileen Wuornos and Jack the Ripper.
Four Northeastern states sit at the top of the ranking for interest in unsolved mysteries and disappearances, though North Carolina comes in at number two.
The disappearances of Amelia Earhart, Natalie Holloway and Asha Degree have the highest number of searches in the top states in this category.
Half of Americans report enjoying true crime content; 13% of this number comprises people who say it’s their favorite genre.
TV shows are the most common medium for consuming true crime content, at 52%, followed by movies at 39%.
True crime fans were most likely to watch Netflix (62%) for true crime content, followed by YouTube (42%) and Prime Video (36%).

My True Crime Recommendation:

I could list off a bunch of Netflix docs but if you're a true crime nut you've probably already seen them all. Instead, I have a podcast that I want to share with you. If you're not already listening to Crime Junkie, you need to start. The show is available on major podcasting platforms, and it's hosted by a lady named Ashley Flowers who does a phenomenal job navigating the listener through dark and sometimes complex cases. If you're a true crime creep like me, you will thank me for this one.

Those of us who live in Connecticut know, this place is NOT what the rest of the country thinks it is. We have folks struggling to get by, we have crime, drugs and very dangerous neighborhoods. Recently, I set out to find the most dangerous city in Connecticut and I got a lot more detail than I bargained for. After determining Hartford was the city with the most violent crime, I was able to find the specific places that are the most dangerous within the city. Wildlife Expert Shares Connecticut's Top 5 Most Dangerous Animals

To come up with the 5 Most Dangerous animals in Connecticut I consulted with an expert. Her name is Jen "The Zookeeper" Kotkin and she immediately took issue with the phrasing "the most dangerous." I mean she knew what I was angling for but made clear to me that these animals are only dangerous when approached, protecting their cubs and food, etc. She told me: "wild animals aren’t out there looking to start fights, and take the flight versus fight route whenever possible."
