According to the Examiner News, Shake Shack is gearing up to open its latest location in Mount Kisco by mid-2025. The burger chain will take over a 4,000-square-foot space at 176 N. Bedford Rd., which used to house a Dunkin' and an Oishii Asian fusion restaurant.

The building will undergo renovations to match the modern look typical of Shake Shack’s other locations. They say the interior will likely accommodate around 75 diners, with some outdoor seating as well. The company is only waiting for approval from the Building Department to proceed, as no major zoning changes are needed.

There are already four Shake Shack locations in Westchester County, including in White Plains, Hartsdale, Yonkers, and Port Chester. With this new spot, Shake Shack adds to the recent momentum in Mount Kisco's business scene. Just weeks before, ShopRite relocated to a new building, and Barnes & Noble moved into a large space on South Moger Avenue.

The Mount Kisco Shake Shack will feature an updated exterior, replacing the old 1970s-style look of the previous tenants. Plans are also in place to keep parking and landscaping largely unchanged from before. While the exact opening date hasn't been set, the chain is aiming for a summer debut.

Some takeaways:

  • We need to stop eliminating 1970s style from this country, those were some elegant lines and snappy colors.
  • I was not aware of the joys of Shake Shack until recently, and WOW that is some good stuff. Everyone was chirping at me for years for being a laggard on this and I resisted but I was being stupid and stubborn. Chef recommends, I'm chef.
