If you're in the market for a new Nissan or Infinity and you live in the Danbury area, well soon you'll be in luck.

Back in 2021, the City of Danbury's Planning Department approved plans to convert retail space on Sugar Hollow Road for a car dealership and 15 bay service garage. Fast forward to this week, the city zoning commission approved final plans for the Nissan-Infinity dealership to take over the space left vacant that both Sports Authority and Bed, Bath, and Beyond had occupied.

According to dariknews.com, the new dealership will occupy some 78,000 square feet on eight acres of property near the Danbury Airport and the Danbury Fair Mall.

That specific area of Sugar Hollow Road is also the home to a few other high end dealerships like Porsche, Audi, Volkswagen, as well as service places like SpeedSport Tuning and Collector Car Services. There's even a 50,000 square foot storage facility and restoration center, the biggest in Fairfield County, that produces $450,000 sports cars.

The area that will soon house the new Nissan-Infinity dealership has plenty of parking for new cars on display as well as for a service center, and for customers of the dealerships.

PJ Prunty is the Director of the Danbury Chamber of Commerce and he commented on the new dealerships that are coming soon to Danbury and said "it speaks to Danbury as a place for your business to find and grow, and it speaks to the pro-business approach that this economy invites.”

Now with the approval of these two major dealerships, the west side of Danbury is starting to emerge as a high end auto corridor, and part of a larger commercial boom in the city.
