Church Street in Naugatuck is about to get another new restaurant, and this one should be familiar to residents of the Naugatuck Valley. The Hub has been getting great reviews from their Ansonia restaurant at 313 Main Street for their wood-fired pizza, wings, and inventive craft cocktails. They announced on their Facebook page way back in December 2019 that they were opening a second location on Church Street in Naugatuck, then COVID happened.

They have been updating the Facebook page throughout the pandemic, showing various stages of construction, the installation of the beautiful new wood-burning oven, the rehab of the interior and exterior of the space, colorful cocktails, and projected opening dates. There have been a few of them, first it was spring 2020, then July, and lastly, August 2020. The latest post contained a nice photo of the interior and a few of their booths:

The Hub's menu is pretty simple; pizza, wings, salads, a couple of rotating apps, booze, and desserts. They've obviously been watching a lot of Bar Rescue like the rest of us. Eliminate the wide variety of menu items, and concentrate on the things that you do best. In The Hub's case, they get rave reviews for their wings and their pizza. There it is, the key to their success. It should compliment next door neighbors 66 Church and their other newer neighbor, The Loaded Goat Coffee Company. Naugatuck has really stepped up their business-attraction game in the Church Street and Rubber Avenue corridor, The Hub is a good get for the city and neighborhood.
