Just about 24 hours after a New Milford High School Student was arrested and charged with setting two fires within the school, another serious incident has been reported.

According to a press release from the New Milford Police Department, at around 10:30 this morning (February 27) it was reported to the School Resource Officer that a student approached a staff member and proclaimed to have a weapon. Officers say, however, that an immediate investigation determined that the student did not have a weapon on school grounds, and did not at all have access to the aforementioned weapon.

The report did not disclose exactly what type of weapon the student referred to.

The unidentified student was arrested and charged with breach of peace, and was then released into the custody of a parent. The student is scheduled to appear in juvenile court on March 12 in Waterbury.

Another job well done by the New Milford Police Department, and more specifically, the School Resource Officers who certainly seem to have their hands full these days.
