New Milford’s ‘Parade of Lights’ to Take Place This December
It's a time honored tradition in the Town of New Milford, and it's happening this year on Saturday, December 18.
It just wouldn't be the Holiday Season in New Milford without their annual Parade of Lights sponsored by the Water Wich Hose Co. #2, and the New Milford Chamber of Commerce.
Mark your calenders for Saturday, December 18 for the Parade of Lights. According to the Water Wich Hose Co. #2, step off time for the parade is 7 PM and the general public is asked to get there by 6:30 PM.
All the fire departments in New Milford, local businesses, and other surrounding fire departments will all be participating in this year's parade.
The parade starts after the Caroling on the Green, and once the fire alarms sound, the parade will get underway and kicks off from Canterbury Hill Road, just off Main Street, and head down Main Street through the town.
Anyone can participate in the parade, but you must have your vehicle decked out with lights and festive holiday decorations. Just meet at the gathering point on Canterbury Hill Road before 6:30 PM.
The Water Wich Hose Co. #2 will also have their annual Santa Express. Santa has already made himself available to visit your home during the weekends of December 11-12, and the following weekend December 18-19 between 8 AM and 6 PM. Don’t miss the chance for Santa to come to your house, deliver a gift to your child, and pose for photos on the fire truck with your family!
If your interested in a Santa visit, just fill out the request form on the Water Witch Hose Co.#2 website at wwhc2.org. Visits are on a first come, first serve basis and a $50 dollar donation per household is suggested with all the proceeds going to benefit the the Water Witch Holse Co. #2.
