New Milford has announced their schedule of events for their September 11 Memorial Ceremony. It takes place this Wednesday morning, with the public invited to start gathering at 8 AM.

While many cities do a ceremony to remember the lives lost in the September 11, 2001 terror attacks, New Milford is one of a handful of communities that still does their remembrance in the morning, at the exact time the first plane hit the World Trade Center.

The ceremony takes place at the monument on Patriots Way, which is next to the New Milford train station and overlooks the softball fields at Young's Field.

Here is the schedule of events: The apparatus bell will toll at 8:46 AM, and EMT, Police and Fire Departments will raise the flag.

The National Anthem will be sung, an invocation will be offered, and local and state officials including Mayor Pete Bass and State Representatives Bill Buckbee and Richard Smith will offer brief memorials.God Bless America will be sung, and piper Patrcik Maguire will play Amazing Grace.

Guests are invited to place flowers at the monument base in memory of those lost and to honor the heroes of September 11.
