At around 2:30PM on Thursday 8/20/20, The Naugatuck Police Department alleges that the female, fully pictured in the photograph below, left the Walmart Store on New Haven Road (Rt. 69), without paying for merchandise. The suspect left in a silver Scion, possibly bearing Connecticut registration 545-PLA. If you have any kind of information, you're being asked to contact the Naugatuck Police Department at 203-729-5221, or, you can report anonymously to the Naugatuck Confidential Tip Line at 203-720-1010.

From reading through a lot of the comments on the original NPD Facebook post, a few people have recognized that the "Spicy" shirt and visor are parts of a Subway uniform. It's also interesting to see how truly tough it is to recognize someone with a mask on. I noticed that going into my bank for the first time since the pandemic started, I was asked to show my license, briefly lower my mask, and allow myself to be verified before they opened the door to my bank. It seems as though Walmart on New Haven Road has similar security, because most of the other comments on the Facebook post are in regards to how strict the store typically is, in allowing you to go in, or out, without a receipt and bag check. It may seem easier to try and steal something with your identity partially hidden behind a mask, but there is always a camera watching you from some angle.
