According to the Naugatuck Police Department, NPD Officers were conducting a motor vehicle stop on Friday, May 14, 2021, in the area of Old Waterbury Turnpike and Sheridan Drive. During a traffic stop, officers allegedly discovered a huge stash of illegal drugs in a motor vehicle. NPD placed Tyler Murtishi, 20, of Moorland Ave in Waterbury, and Mark Oladapo, 19, of Dickerman Street in New Haven, under arrest after allegedly finding:

  • 619 Xanax pills
  • 38 Focalin pills
  • 51 Gabapentin pills
  • 14.82 oz of edible Marijuana
  • 2.4 grams of Cocaine
  • 10.69 oz of Marijuana
  • Packaging Materials and Multiple Scales

Murtishi and Oladapo face multiple charges, including:

  • Operating a Drug Factory
  • 2 counts - Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Possession with Intent to Sell

Oladapo, who was operating the vehicle, also faces an infraction for operating with illegally tinted windows. It doesn't say so in the report, but I'm guessing that the illegal tinted windows were the red flag that caught the officer's attention?

Murtishi and Oladapo were both taken into custody and will appear before a judge in Waterbury Superior Court.
