Naugatuck Police are seeking the public's help as they attempt to locate a suspect accused of trying to steal a vehicle from a gas station parking lot on New Haven Road.

According to a press release we received from the Naugatuck PD, on Saturday morning, August 15, 2020 at 10:30AM, officers were dispatched to the Citgo gas station at 800 New Haven Road. The incident began when the victim entered the gas station, a male suspect jumped into the driver's seat of the victim's Honda CRV, allegedly in an attempt to steal it. The victim came out of the store, and interrupted the attempted theft, confronted the suspect, and got into a verbal altercation. During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly pointed a gun at the victim. The suspects then entered an Olive Green Honda HR-V and fled south on New Haven Road, with two accomplices.

The suspects are being described as two males, and one female, all in their late teens, or early 20s. The man who displayed the pistol is being described as a light-skinned black male, 5'7". The other male is described as a heavy set black male, and the female appeared to be Hispanic.

This is a very busy section of New Haven Road (Rt. 63), right in the vicinity of McDonald's, Carvel/G's Burger's, and the massive J&M Automotive empire. It's also a bit more terrifying considering it was broad daylight.
