The National Weather Service has completed a damage survey of yesterday's storm and has now confirmed that an EF1 Tornado touched down in the town of New Castle in New York's Westchester County.

Yesterday afternoon (October 2), the National Weather Service had issued a Tornado Watch at 4:55pm for the area which was in effect until midnight. The results of the damage survey state that the tornado formed at approximately 4:47pm and continued until approximately 4:56pm with an estimated maximum wind speed of 110 miles per hour. The tornado had a path length of 3.75 miles and a maximum path width of 300 yards. There were no injuries or fatalities reported.

The National Weather service extended their appreciation to Emergency Management, Law Enforcement and other Emergency Personnel for their help surveying the storm.
