An early Sunday morning ride turned into a nightmare for one person on a motorcycle and a deer this weekend.

Newstimes.com reports that early on Sunday morning (August 5) police say that a deer ran out in front of a motorcyclist near the post office on Bakkus Avenue, just down the road from the Danbury Fair Mall. He tried to swerve to miss hitting the animal but unfortunately, it was not in time and struck the deer. The animal suffered fatal injuries while the motorcyclist was knocked off of the motorcycle and struck the ground resulting in an injury to his shoulder. He was transported to Danbury Hospital.

According to the article, Danbury Police Luitenant Christian Carroccio said that the biker was traveling southbound on Bakkus Avenue just before 9:00 am when the accident occurred. The incident caused police to shut down part of the road for a short period of time.
