So, you’ve decided to roll the dice and move to Connecticut, where the real estate market looks like it’s been snorting dollar bills. According to the latest from PropertyShark (seriously, that a real name), four Connecticut ZIP codes are now officially part of the “you’ve got to be kidding me” club of the priciest places in the U.S.

These numbers are shocking! We’re talking about median home prices that have officially passed the $2 million mark for the first time ever. Yikes!

  • Riverside (06878) - #53
  • Greenwich (06830) - #64
  • Old Greenwich (06870) - #80
  • Darien (06820) - #99

Fairfield County is basically saying, “Step aside, peasants,” as it hogs all the top 10 spots in Connecticut's luxury real estate scene. And if you thought that was rich, PropertyShark labeled this year’s trend as “cautious growth.”

That's not all, 15 ZIP codes now boast median prices of $4 million or more. Meanwhile, only 15 are still under $2 million. Atherton, California, keeps its crown as the most expensive ZIP code in the U.S. for the eighth year running, but it’s under $8 million now—so at least it’s not totally ridiculous.

The Hamptons are throwing haymakers, with Sagaponack and Water Mill coming in at No. 2 and No. 3, both just shy of $6 million. And of course, New York City is still raking in the dough, claiming six of the nation’s top money pits.

Now, if you’re wondering how to survive in these pricy neighborhoods, here’s my advice: consider selling your blood—or maybe your body? I mean, desperate times call for desperate measures, right? Or you could just lean into the whole “living amongst the wealthy” vibe and start practicing your best “I totally belong here” face. That is what I do but the clothing and vehicle usually give me away.

So, if you’re still curious about Connecticut’s elite price tags, here’s the rundown of New England’s top 10 most expensive ZIP codes:

  1. Nantucket, MA - $2.9M (Yeah, you better be on a yacht)
  2. Riverside, CT - $2.51M (This place is an elite neighborhood inside of an elite neighborhood)
  3. Boston, MA - $2.5M (Pack your Lobster rolls)
  4. Wellesley Hills, MA - $2.3M (Fancy schools, anyone?)
  5. Greenwich, CT - $2.09M (Bring your checkbook)
  6. New Castle, NH - $2.19M (Moose-friendly zone)
  7. Weston, MA - $2.1M (Wealthy Mass-holes”)
  8. Old Greenwich, CT - $2.09M (Vintage vibes, high prices)
  9. Waban, MA - $1.95M (You might see a celebrity here)
  10. Darien, CT - $1.92M (Welcome to the club)

So, there you have it! If you can make it in these million-dollar neighborhoods, you can make it anywhere—or at least figure out how to sell your kidney on the black market. Good luck!
