Connecticut Heat Advisory Continues, Relief Expected for the Weekend
If you're getting a little tired of the heat, just hold on for one more day.
The National Weather Service has us under a heat advisory again today until 8 PM tonight. A heat advisory is issued when the combination of heat and humidity makes the outside air will feel like it's 95-99 degrees for two consecutive days, or 100-104 degrees for any length of time.
Of course seniors and those with chronic health or breathing problems are at an increased risk.
Officials advise those who can to use air conditioning or go to a place where there is air conditioning. You should also check on vulnerable friends and neighbors and family members who may be at risk due to the heat.
If your work, or will be spending anytime outside, remember to take frequent breaks from the heat and of course, stay hydrated.
There is some relief on the way by sometime later today or tonight as a line of showers and thunderstorms will make their way through the state, followed by somewhat cooler temperatures.
Here's what we can expect to see weather wise as we approach the weekend.
It will cool down dramatically on Saturday but the trade-off will be clouds and showers for the start of the weekend. Highs Saturday will be more bearable around the mid-70s.
