On May 27, 2021, Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont signed the full scale iGaming law, and thus we've begun as a state the arduous process of truly bringing legalized casino, lottery, and sports gambling into our homes.

The state has partnered up with both Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun to offer legalized sports betting at both incredibly beautiful locations, and just today, Mohegan Sun has announced that they are launching a new aspect to their offerings, Mohegan Digital, their official expansion into the iGaming industry.

In a press release we've received from Cody Chapman of Mohegan Sun, the brand launched Mohegan Digital today, the iGaming division of Mohegan Sun Casino, which will offer online gaming and wagering to its customers and residents of Connecticut. Mohegan Digital's first priority is to create an iGaming area at the Casino.

Mohegan Sun Gaming & Entertainment already owns properties in states where sports and online gambling has been legalized, including the Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City. I stayed in Atlantic City last year right before the pandemic hit, and I was able to stop into the Sports Betting Parlor at the Resorts.

It was exactly what you would have imagined, a huge wall of hundreds of flat screens, each showing a different sporting event from around the world. The betting lines and odds run across huge boards in between all of the flat screens, and there are plenty of places to lounge out, grab an adult beverage, and try to beat the house.

There is still no word as to exactly when sports and legalized gambling will commence here in CT. It iss undergoing the Federal approval process and needs to win the approval of the Department of the Interior. The general idea though, is that we will see it soon, as in fall/late summer.
