Can you hear the screams of joy from the Oyster and Point Judith Calamari superfans in your neighborhood? They're celebrating the breaking news that one of the US's premier seafood restaurants has figured out how to reopen just six weeks after a devastating fire. Matunuck Oyster Bar in South Kingstown, Rhode Island has just announced that they will open up for business again on July 1.

Thanks to the Support of the Community, Here's What Will Happen

According to the announcement, Matunuck has altered their business model to take advantage of our beautiful summertime weather and obtained approval from the South Kingstown Town Council to offer al fresco dining in a temporary tent in the parking lot of the Matunuck Marina located across the street from the restaurant at 60 Succotash Road.

There will be a 'soft opening' on Monday, June 30, and then it will officially open the next day Tuesday, July 1. Business hours will be from 11AM to 10PM daily, with tableside dining and to-go options available.

There is no mention of progress on the rebuild, or which items from Matunuck's extensive menu that will be available. Most reports have mentioned that the building was close to, if not a total loss, so it's going to be a while for the building to rise from the ashes. This is great news, Matunuck serves the best Point Judith Calamari that I've ever had.
