According to the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company, local crews from multiple departments in the area sprung into action right around 4:00 AM on Friday after being alerted that a blaze had broken out at a large, single-family home on Christian Lane.

As the first batch of Brookfield's Bravest arrived on the scene, they reportedly determined that the active fire had grown large enough to require a second alarm to be requested, which typically means that more engines, firefighters, and additional support units such as a tanker and other emergency vehicles will be activated and called to the scene to assist with the situation.

The BVFC went on to report that multiple lines, or hoses in layman's terms, from Engine No. 5 were needed due to the strength of the fire and the length of the Christian Lane home's long driveway.

Brookfield fire engines No. 1 and No. 4 were also on the scene, alongside Tanker No. 7 and Ambulance 18-2, while Engine No. 22 reportedly provided a tanker filling site nearby, off of Aramon Circle.

Thankfully, all of the home's occupants were able to successfully evacuate, and everyone was accounted for, despite the devastation that the blaze caused to the structure of the home. No victims of the fire, first responders or emergency personnel were injured in the course of battling the fire.

The cause of the two-alarm fire is currently under investigation by the Brookfield Fire Marshal's office, and in a statement, the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company gave a shout out to the many local agencies that assisted them on Friday morning, saying, "We would like to thank all our mutual aid agencies who provided Tankers, Engines, UTV's and manpower," before mentioning Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Company, Water Witch Hose Co. #2 of New Milford, Hawleyville Volunteer Fire Company #1, Newtown Hook & Ladder, Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue, Roxbury Volunteer Fire Department, Miry Brook Volunteer Fire Company, Mill Plain Independent Hose Company, #12 Phoenix Hose Company Inc., Engine 8 in Danbury, and the Brookfield Police Department.
