Mass COVID Vaccination Site to Open at Danbury Fair Mall
Danbury will see the opening of a mass COVID-19 drive-through vaccination site at the Danbury Fair Mall on Thursday.
Newstimes has reported that this Thursday, opening day, the drive-through site will be open from 12 PM to 4 PM and will have six lanes where cars will drive up and receive a Moderna shot.
Beginning Friday morning, March 5, the site will be open for vaccinations from 8:30 AM until 4 PM and will be handling 600 appointments every day, but remember, you must schedule an appointment to get your shot. There are no random drive-ups.
Book your appointment on the VAMS website or call the CT COVID Vaccine Appointment Assist Line at 877-918-2224 if you need help over the phone. Opening day appointments are already sold out as well as appts for the next couple of weeks.
The mass vaccination site is being coordinated by the Community Health Center Inc. (CHC), which also has sites in East Hartford, Middletown, and Stamford. Personnel from CHC will administer the shots, and support staff will include volunteers and the National Guard. Danbury Mayor Joe Cavo loves the idea.
It's going to be a great thing for us here in the Danbury region-the ability to vaccinate so many people a day compared to what our abilities have been up to this point. It's going to be a game changer for us.
On a personal note, I scheduled my vaccine appointment through the VAMS website in early February but couldn't find availability in the Danbury area until March 8.
