There are a few words in the English language that make me stop dead in my tracks and pay attention when I hear them. Here are a few: Linguine Al Vongole, Zuppa Di Pesce, and Arancini. I'm a sucker for Italian cuisine, and anytime that an authentic Italian restaurant opens up near here, I gotta go try it. So, it looks like I have to go to Mahopac next, because there's an authentic Italian restuarant there that's been open for only a couple of months, and they're throwing a grand opening celebration/ribbon cutting event there next week.

Trattoria Sei is located in the former Gino's at 596 Route 6 in Mahopac, NY. Sei is the Italian word for the number 6, and if you've ever been around a bunch of guys playing the old school Italian game "Morra", "SEIIIIIIIII!!!" was my favorite number to throw down during a game. Anyway, the restaurant, after taking the pandemic closing hit, has been up and operating for a couple of months now, and based on the photos on their official Facebook page, oh man, they are up and running full steam, because the food looks incredible. A recent photo of Beef Braciola over Creamy Polenta is making me drool.

The public has been invited to a Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting Ceremony celebrating Trattoria Sei on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at 5PM by the Greater Mahopac-Carmel Chamber of Commerce. Good luck Trattoria Sei, I hope that you continue to bring delicious Italian cuisine to our little corner of the world, Salud, Chindon!
