Time to take flight in Middlefield, Connecticut in an amazing new maze challenge.

I've spent a fair amount of time picking apples and more, and checking out the fantastic Apple Barrel Market at Lyman Orchards. Located on 32 Reeds Gap Road in Middlefield, about an hour from the Danbury area, it's so worth the trip in general. Even more so this time of year, when they create their amazing corn maze!

The theme of Lyman Orchards’ Corn Maze this year is Charles Lindbergh’s famous Spirit of St. Louis, the single-engine plane he piloted solo in 1927 on the first, nonstop transatlantic flight.

The Corn Maze challenge is on now, open Wednesdays through Friday 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

You can get more info and buy tickets online at lymanorchards.com or you can also call 860-349-6043. Once again, it sounds like an adventure not to miss:

Get lost in the Corn Maze this year and revisit the time 90-years-ago, when Col. Charles Lindbergh climbed into his custom-built, single engine, single-seat monoplane on the first solo non-stop transatlantic flight from Long Island to Paris. Challenge yourself in this special anniversary corn maze featuring of the historic Spirit of St. Louis, its famous pilot, and the aviation revolution this flight began.

With Fall just around the corner, I smell road trips in the air. Add a stop at Lyman Orchards, a year-round destination, to your plan. Boasting seasonal pick-your-own fruits and tours of the orchard, golf on two world-class public 18-hole courses and more, it's a must.
