Luke Bryan and his wife Caroline have once come to the rescue of a dog in need. The couple have taken in a dog named Kimmie and helped to literally save her life.

Nashville's Proverbs 12:10 animal rescue organization turned to Instagram on Wednesday (June 19) to share a picture of the adorable dog smiling into the camera in a way sure to melt the hardest heart. "She spent days in a small run at animal control. She is completely vetted and ready for her forever home. She is good with other dogs and love(s) people," they wrote.

There was an outpouring of responses from animal lovers, from those asking questions and those who appeared seriously interested in taking her in. The shelter provided an update on Thursday (June 20), posting two more pictures of Kimmie — one in her pen at the rescue, and the next cuddling with Luke and Caroline Bryan in their massive kitchen.

"What a difference a few days can make!" Proverbs 12:10 marveled. "We pulled this girl from a kill shelter on Saturday and today she is hanging out with the Bryan family! We are so very grateful for our fosters that make it possible for us to save animals in need. @linabryan3 @lukebryan @brettsbarn."

Caroline Bryan runs an animal preserve called Brett's Barn, which she founded in 2017 to provide animal therapy for various children. Inspired by the death of the couple's niece, Sadie Brett Boyer, who died at seven months of age, Brett's Barn includes a pony, alpacas, two kangaroos and more comfort animals. Kimmie currently resides at Brett's Barn, and the organization also shared her picture online, calling on someone to step up and give her a more permanent home.

Anyone interested in adopting Kimmie can fill out an application on the Proverbs 12:10 website.

The Bryans previously adopted an 18-year-old dog from the same rescue in February of 2019. The adorable black dog with a gray face was named Poochie, and he got to live the high life with a family of his own before he died in late February.
