I'm sure you know the old saying, if you don't like the weather in New England, wait five minutes. Nothing could be more true if you look at our forecast for the first part of the week.

According to the National Weather Service, we'll start off the week with rain and mild temperatures. Some of the rain could be heavy at times with up to three quarter of an inch possible. That rain could cause some local street and highway flooding, especially in northwest Connecticut because of melting snow in the Berkshires.

Then, late Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning temperatures will drop significantly and the rain will turn to snow. That could set the stage to affect your Wednesday morning commute with anywhere from 1 to 3 inches of snow.

During Monday and Tuesday temperatures will climb into the 50's, which will be the first time in a few weeks we have seen temps this mild in the area.

So far over the last month the daytime highs have been well below average. Danbury’s average temperature of 29.2 degrees is actually 5.2 degrees below average. Just this past weekend Danbury set a cold temperature record on Sunday morning with a low of 12 degrees.
