The most expensive home for sale in Dutchess County was owned by a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee.

If you're looking for a new home and love rock and roll, I have just the place for you. You can own a massive estate that was once owned by Darl Hall of Hall and Oates. The price tag? $16,900,000. That's for the entire Fraser Ridge Farm, a private country estate spanning over 432 acres, making it the most expensive home for sale in Dutchess County.

The listing for this house on Trulia says it has a main house, party barn, guest house, and casita, which is a small house. The main house is made of two 18th century homes that were dismantled and moved to the land in 2004. The main house consists of 11 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, and a total of 24 rooms in the main building. The main house is 8,000 square feet, with 5 bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, and 9 fireplaces. It also has an indoor swimming pool and poolside area, media room, wine cellar as well as a kitchen, dining room and sitting areas.  The outbuilding added an additional 5,000 square feet to the main house, with another kitchen, living space, 6 more bedrooms, and 5 more bathrooms.

More surprising than the price tag is where it's located. I was shocked when I found out this home was located in Amenia. According to Wikipedia, the 2000 census found the average household income in Amenia was $39,231. To put it into perspective, Trulia says the estimated mortgage payment would be $80,986 per month for this $16 million house.
