Lego Takes Their Building Blocks Out of Enfield After 50 Years

The older I get, the more I dislike Massachusetts. I'm a Yankees & Jets fan, and now, the damn Commonwealth has stolen a piece of my childhood from my home state. Enfield's Lego has just announced that they will be Connecticut no more, they're pahkin' their cah in Hahvahd Yaad.

Look at every news organization and social media outlet in Connecticut right now, they're splashing the news that Lego has announced that after a long process, the company has chosen to move out of their 50-year-old Lego resort in Enfield beginning in 2025, and moving their last block by the end of 2026. Where? Boston.

From what I've heard from friends who have worked at Lego in Enfield, it's a great company to work for. The company obviously has the resources to move anywhere in the world, and from the information that is in the company statement about the move, it seems as though they're taking care of every employee that chooses to make the move with them. According to Lego - "All colleagues based in Enfield will have a position in the new location and will receive relocation assistance if they wish to make the move."

If not? "Colleagues will receive financial support and job placement assistance".

Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont has just released a statement concerning Lego's announcement. In it, he expressed his disappointment in hearing today's news, relayed that it's his understanding that the move was not due to policies here in Connecticut, and also pledged to offer state support for those uninterested in relocation.

I'll bet you there will be a lot of sick Lego products available at Enfield tag sales over the next 3 years.
