Starting this Saturday, May 8, Lake Compounce will open up to the general public. If it seems extra early, that's because it is. The official opening day for 2021 is actually three weeks earlier than the normal opening day.

According to the Lake Compounce official website, they plan to have multiple different safety guidelines in place.

The site says that they will be operating "significantly different" from what people are used to when coming to the parks. They have enhanced health and safety measures for all guests to follow when coming to the parks. Your responsibilities when coming to the park include wearing a mask, washing hands often, avoid touching your face, and maintaining a 6 foot distance from people not with your party.

Additionally, the website goes on to say that guests are strongly encouraged to register in advance for the date they want to attend. They are putting a cap on the park this year, so if the day you're planning on attending is at capacity, you will need to pick a new date.

Finally, in keeping with the park tradition of always adding the newest and most exciting attractions, they will be opening their new Venus Vortex which is a new water park ride with a series of dark tunnels and a six story drop into a venus flytrap type slide.

Lake Compounce is the oldest, continuously operating amusement park in North America opening 175 years ago in 1846.
