Parting is such sweet sorrow as we say goodbye, for now, to one of our favorite, most quirky Jeopardy contestants ever, Austin Rogers.

Austin, who was born and raised in Pound Ridge and graduated from Bedford's Fox Lane High School, lost last night after a winning streak of 12 matches in a row, reports LoHud. In the short time that he’s been on the show, he’s gone viral for his funny facial expressions, commentary and quick wit.

He partied with Jimmy Fallon last week at the New York City watering hole where he tends bar, according to Page Six. Last night, he even appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s show after his loss on Jeopardy, which netted him over $411,000. He lost by only $51.
Austin Rogers talked about growing up in the Hudson Valley, when asked about it by Alex Trebek on television, he said:

I grew up on the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Westchester. If we walked out my back door and turned north I wouldn’t reach another home for about six miles

Alex then asked:

Did you have any encounters with a wild animal?

Austin Answered:

Usually drunk kids from John Jay (Cross River) High School.

We really enjoyed watching him win on Jeopardy and look forward to him coming back for the upcoming Tournament of Champions, which runs for two weeks starting November 6th.
