January 6, 2025: Snowflakes in the Forecast for Connecticut—Here’s What You Need to Know
The holiday season is officially over, and everyone is heading back to work with a little extra chill in the air – and the threat of a Monday morning snowstorm. So, what can we expect here in Connecticut as we kick off the workweek?
I-95's unofficial, unpaid meteorologist, Jack Drake, had this to say just hours before the storm rolls in. According to Jack, not much is expected to change tomorrow. We're on the northern edge of the system, which means dry air will likely keep the snow from growing too heavy. However, Jack believes that the dynamics still favor at least some flurries in Southern Connecticut and the Hudson Valley. The far southwest of the state, in particular, has the best shot at seeing some accumulation—around half an inch.
Jack admits it’s really a bit of a "split hairs" situation, and he could just call it flurries across the board. But, we know how much everyone loves a good snow map, so here’s the breakdown: light snow, some flurries, and a chance for those little dustings to make it feel like winter again, even if it’s not a full-on snowstorm.
And for those already eyeing the weekend forecast, don’t worry—Jack's got his eye on a more substantial storm heading our way next weekend. Stay tuned for more!
