Country fans gathered for a truly special evening at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts on August 21st, 2025, as Tyler Hubbard took the Horizon Stage for an intimate performance. Unlike the massive pavilion shows Bethel is known for, the Horizon Stage offers a smaller, more personal setting where fans are up close with the artist. Our staff photographer and writer, Lauren Hunter, was there to capture the one-of-a-kind night as Hubbard showcased his solo career against the historic backdrop of the original Woodstock grounds.

Tyler Hubbard Brings His Solo Show to the Horizon Stage

Review by Lauren Hunter

Tyler Hubbard returned to Bethel Woods, but this time as a solo artist and in a much different setting. Best known as half of the multi-platinum duo, Florida Georgia Line, Hubbard is now carving out his own path in country music. Performing on the Horizon Stage allowed for a more personal connection with the audience, where every lyric and story landed with even greater impact. Sharing the bill was rising country talent Brandon Wisham, who opened the night with a soulful set.

From Georgia Roots to Florida Georgia Line Fame

Hubbard is originally from Georgia and was very involved with his church throughout his childhood. He eventually met Brian Kelley, the other half of Florida Georgia Line, in college. The two became close friends, writing songs together and selling out local Nashville venues before signing their first deal. Florida Georgia Line went on to release five studio albums and tour the nation, becoming one of the most defining acts of the “bro-country” era.

A Strong Start as a Solo Artist

In early 2023, Hubbard released his first solo album, Tyler Hubbard, which has since been certified Gold. His setlist at Bethel Woods featured several tracks from that debut, including “5 Foot 9” and “Dancin’ in the Country.” The 18-song record includes collaborations with names like Keith Urban and Thomas Rhett, showcasing Hubbard’s ability to stand shoulder to shoulder with country’s biggest stars. His performance proved he’s more than capable of thriving on his own.

An Intimate Bethel Woods Experience

Concerts at Bethel Woods are always special, but a Horizon Stage performance feels especially unique. Nestled into the rolling hills of the grounds, the stage is designed for close-up shows where fans can feel like part of the performance. On this cool summer evening, the crowd sang along to every lyric and swayed under the open sky, creating a setting that perfectly matched Hubbard’s heartfelt delivery.

Surprises and Fan Favorites

Hubbard treated the audience not only to his solo hits, but also to music he’s written for others, including “You Make It Easy,” the song later released by Jason Aldean. Fans were also given a special moment when Hubbard debuted an unreleased track, “Land,” after asking the crowd to vote between two new songs. The cheers made the decision clear, and the crowd was rewarded with a first listen.

Brandon Wisham Opens the Night

At just 22 years old, Brandon Wisham has already begun to make waves in country music, and his opening set only added to the magic of the evening. With songs like “Pain Won’t Last,” featured on Bailey Zimmerman’s Religiously, Wisham displayed a raw, emotional storytelling style that connected with the Bethel crowd. His performance hinted at a bright future ahead.

Tyler Hubbard continues to headline his own tour and will also join Luke Bryan’s 2025 Farm Tour beginning in September. For fans who missed this special Horizon Stage show, Hubbard will be performing in Big Flats, NY, on August 31st, 2025, along with additional Northeast dates.
