Road Rage Problems in New York
It's become such a problem that the New York State Police (NYSP) issued a statewide alert reminding drivers about the dangers of losing their temper while driving. The alert stated, "Road rage incidents have notably increased across New York. Losing your temper behind the wheel can lead to serious consequences — including arrest. Stay calm. Stay courteous. Drive safe."

According to police, at approximately 9:10 a.m. on Upper Wisner Road in Warwick, a white male driving a motorcycle allegedly attempted to run another driver over. Police said that the other driver, who was not identified, was standing outside of his vehicle when the motorcycle operator drove his motorcycle at the victim.
The rider then proceeded to punch the victim in the face and drive away, heading towards State Route 17A. The motorcycle (above) is described as a black BMW or Triumph. The driver is described as a white male who was wearing a silver helmet and a black and silver jacket.
WPD didn't say what led to the incident, but did ask anyone who has any information to please contact Detective Kenney at WPD at 845-986-3425.
What to Do in a Road Rage Incident
If you are involved in or witness a road rage incident, you should never engage, exuberate, or provoke an offending driver. Instead, drivers should safely get out of their way and safely remove themselves from the situation. "You don't know what the other driver is capable of and may have a weapon with them," said the NYSP.
