Hudson Valley Town Mention in New Riley Sager Thriller
We talk about it all the time now, the Hudson Valley has become one of the hottest spots for filming and entertainment over the last few years.
But is there one Hudson Valley mention that sticks out to you?
Spooky Season Book Club, Want to Join?
I've been trying to get my friends and family to start a book club and the only way I was able to do it was by convincing them to read spooky, thrillers leading up to Halloween. So, with that being said, our first book club pick was a new release called Middle of the Night.
In short, the story is about Ethan Marsh who is in his 40s and moving back into his parent's home as they retire to Florida. As soon as Ethan moves in flashbacks of a terrible crime come flashing back.
In the summer of 1994, Ethan's best friend Billy went missing while they were camping in Ethan's backyard.
Now that Ethan is home memories and updates in the case bring together a group of friends who were all affected by Billy's abduction.
New Thriller Shouts Out Saugerties, NY
This is spoiler spoiler-free article, but I enjoyed the twist at the end of Middle of the Night. However, what I enjoyed more was the Hudson Valley mention halfway through the book.
The story takes place in Princeton, New Jersey, and throughout the book, we flash back and forth between 2024 and 1994. One of the characters we flashback with is Ashley.
In 1994, Ashley was a recent high school graduate and ready to celebrate her first summer of freedom including a trip to Woodstock '94.
For those that may not be familiar, Woodstock 94 was held at Winston Farm in Saugerties, New York in August of 1994.
While the mention didn't do much for the plot it was still fun and unexpected in the Riley Sager thriller.
Kerhonkson, NY Farm Celebrates 30th Anniversary of Woodstock 94
Kelder's Farm in Kerhonkson, New York is one of the more popular farms to visit in the Hudson Valley. From spring with their tulips to summer with their sunflowers, fruits and veggies, Kelder's is a great time for the whole family.
As summer wraps up, Kelder's Farm prepares for the popular harvest season that includes apple and pumpkin picking and of course a visit to their corn maze.
This year, they celebrated the 30th anniversary of Woodstock 1994 with this amazing design:
One could say this corn maze...rocks! I digress.
