According to organizers in Danbury, Clean City Danbury Day is making its return, and if your garage, basement, or backyard has been quietly turning into a dumping ground all winter… this is your moment.

The annual cleanup event is set for Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 8 AM to 12 PM, and it’s basically a free pass to finally get rid of all the bulky junk you’ve been pretending you’ll “deal with someday.” We’re talking about old furniture, random household items, and all the stuff that somehow multiplies when you’re not looking.

There will be five drop-off locations across the city, including City Hall, the Public Works Facility, WCSU Westside Campus, St. Gregory Church, and Rogers Park. The key thing to know—this is strictly for Danbury residents, and you’ll need proof. Also, don’t show up in a box truck thinking you’re slick… commercial vehicles are not allowed.

Now, before you start loading up everything you own, there are some restrictions. You cannot dump construction debris, yard waste like grass clippings, hazardous materials, or electronics at these sites. If you’ve got old TVs or computers, those need to go to the IWS Mom & Pop Center on White Street during the event.

One thing that is allowed—scrap metal and certain appliances—but they need to be separated from your regular garbage. So don’t just toss everything into one chaotic pile and hope for the best.

This whole thing isn’t just about cleaning out your house either. It’s about keeping Danbury looking like a place people actually want to live. The city is also looking for volunteers to help clean up neighborhoods, which is a great way to give back (and maybe judge your neighbors’ trash habits a little bit).

This is one of those simple, useful community events that actually makes a difference. Plus, let’s be honest, getting rid of junk feels incredible.

With 182,000 sightings nationwide, the odds of an abduction are 1 in 1,833. Connecticut was ranked #11 in the nation which is pretty high.
