Brookfield Accident on Whisconier Road Sends Multiple People to Hospital
According to a release from the Brookfield Police Department, a crash in Brookfield over the weekend sent multiple people to the hospital and temporarily shut down a busy stretch of road.

Police say it all happened Saturday afternoon (April 4) around 2:00 p.m. on Whisconier Road near the intersection with High Ridge Road. Officers got multiple 911 calls reporting a crash with injuries, and when they arrived, they found two vehicles involved and several people hurt—thankfully, none of the injuries were considered life-threatening.
Here’s what investigators say went down: a Chevrolet Equinox was heading south and stopped in traffic, waiting to make a left turn onto High Ridge Road. Behind it, a Toyota Tacoma was also traveling southbound, approaching the same area of stopped traffic.
That’s where things went wrong.
According to police, the driver of the Toyota admitted he was distracted inside his vehicle and wasn’t paying attention to the road. The truck ended up crossing over the double yellow line and slammed into the Chevy as it was turning.
Three people who were inside the Chevrolet were taken by EMS to Danbury Hospital to get checked out.

As for the driver of the Toyota, he was hit with multiple infractions, including driving without a license, failing to stay in his lane, and distracted driving.
The crash also caused a bit of a mess for traffic—Whisconier Road had to be shut down for about a half hour while police, fire crews, and EMS worked the scene.
