It’s A Trifecta Of New Milford Cats Looking For Forever Homes
It's National Adopt a Cat month, and to celebrate we have not one, not two, but three cats who are in the market for their new forever homes.
Now the three cats we are featuring this week have lived together for a long time, but their owner had to give them up because the woman lost her home and had to move. Now they call the Animal Welfare Society home, but can't wait to get settled again in their new forever homes.
Nurse Chuny
Nurse Chuny is a 4-year-old black and white female. She is a little nervous in this new environment at the shelter, but with a little time she will settle nicely into her new home. She can be shy with new people and may not let you pet her right away, but she does enjoy rubbing against your legs and talking to you. Nurse Chuny is house trained, and is all up to date on her vaccinations.
Nurse Haleh
Nurse Haleh is the senior member of this cat trifecta. She's a 9-year-old female black cat with striking yellow eyes. She's also quite nervous in this new environment at the shelter. She's a little shy with people she doesn't know, and think she would appreciate a quiet home, with a patient family who would let her settle in at her own pace. Nurse Haleh also totally house trained, and is up to date on all her vaccinations.
Nurse Jackie
Nurse Jackie is a beautiful 4-year-old Calico. Just like our other two featured pets this week, she is a little nervous in this new environment and tends to be shy, but is beginning to come around. Once she gets comfortable with you, she enjoys gentle pets and scratches behind her ear. As is the case with all the dogs and cats at the Animal Welfare Society, Nurse Jackie is all up to date on all her vaccinations, and is house trained.
Now because of the COVID-19 restrictions, if you're interested in adopting one of the featured pets, or any dog or cat at the shelter, first fill out an application on their site at aws-shelter.org. Then, once your application is approved, you can call them at 860-354-1350 and schedule your one-on-one meeting.
The shelter is still looking for some items that they need to help keep the animals safe and clean. Right now they are looking for bleach, paper towels and dry cat food.
If you can contribute, you can drop off the items at the shelter at 8 Dodd Road in New Milford. Just let them know you're going to drop something off, then you can do it with no contact by just leaving it in front of their building.
