Feds: Danbury Inmate Admits Weapon Possession

The Department of Justice at the United States Attorney's Office has announced that an inmate at a federal prison in Danbury, Connecticut, has pleaded guilty to possessing an object "designed or intended to be used as a weapon."

41-year-old John Faucher, who is currently serving a 46 month sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, was in Bridgeport Federal Court yesterday (July 11) where he entered a plea of "guilty" for one count of possession of contraband in a federal prison. Faucher was convicted of a bank robbery and an attempted robbery of a convenience store in Manchester, New Hampshire in October 2016.

Faucher will be back in court on October 3, 2018 when United States District Judge Stefan R. Underhill is scheduled to hand down a sentence. Faucher is facing another five years of prison on top of the sentence he is already serving.

The case is under the investigation of the FBI.
