Immaculate Boys Head to Finals in State Basketball Tournament
The Immaculate High School Boys Basketball Team is just one win away from another state title, and it all comes down to one more game Saturday at Mohegan Sun Arena.
The Mustangs will hope to have some of the "luck of the Irish" on their side when they take on Amity in the CIAC Division 2 State Tournament Finals.
Immaculate (16-4) advanced with a 48-43 win over Glastonbury Thursday night, and will play Amity (15-5). This will be Immaculate's second trip to the finals in the last 3 years.
Immaculate's road to the state championship game saw them beat Fairfield-Warde, New Britain, and Glastonbury, to set up Saturday's match up against Amity.
Jacqueline Dee, whose son is part of the Mustang's squad was very optimistic about the big game on Saturday:
We're all very excited to make it to Mohegan Sun, and the State Championship Game. We're looking for a big showing of support from parents and alumni, and we're working out details to have fan buses heading to the game as well. This is big time for the team and for the school.
Don't worry if you can't make the game, you can catch all the action as it's happening on CPTV or catch the live stream on the NFHS Network.
