If You Ate at This Danbury Restaurant, Your Data May Have Been Hacked
If you dined at the Chili’s at 81 Newtown Road in Danbury, or any other Chili’s, and paid using a credit or debit card, be sure to be checking your account now for any strange charges that may appear.
As you may have been downing one of their draft beers or enjoying a tasty frozen concoction, your account may have accessed. The big worry is that your credit card data being used shortly following your visit according to USA Today.
It seems hackers have made Chili’s restaurants their newest target. Brinker Captial International, the Chili’s restaurant parent company, made the announcement Saturday that there was indeed a breech of data at select Chili’s locations. The restaurant chain has not released a list of the specific eateries that were affected in the months of March and April 2018.
The Brinker International company made this formal announcement:
We sincerely apologize to those who may have been affected and assure you we are working diligently to resolve this incident
