After the last two mass school shootings, the Newburgh City School District has taken steps to keep their students safe.

While the United States Senate and House of Representatives continue to have their slap fights, kids are being shot and killed so the Newburgh Enlarged City School District made the decision to purchase 150-pound metal Remo bullet-resistant doors for the school district according to the New York Post.

According to Remo President, Omar Barnes, there is no weapon that can penetrate these doors and no shooter will be able to get in but that kind of safety comes with a price.

They are made from galvanized steel and each of the 150-pound doors costs around $2,500. A Crown Heights, Brooklyn yeshiva for girls and Newburgh schools are the first schools in New York State to install the Remo bullet-resistant doors.
