Putnam County Deli Robbed at Gunpoint

A Mahopac deli was robbed at gunpoint on Friday and authorities seek help in locating the suspect.

Police say the Crossroads Deli was robbed just before 11:30 and the suspect fled on foot. He's described as a white male, approximately 5 foot 7 inches tall, a scruffy appearance and a cut on his nose. Witnesses reported he has a tattoo of a skull on his left hand possibly the logo of Marvel's Punisher character.

The suspect entered the deli while two workers were on duty and threatened one with his gun. He took their cell phones and put them in a walk in cooler before taking off with between $300 to 400 in cash. Several other businesses in the area, after investigation, reported having seen the man acting in a suspicious manner earlier in the evening.

Authorities suspect he's been involved in other robberies in the area. Anyone with information should call the Carmel Police at (845) 628-1300.
