It’s got to be one of my favorite events of the year. It’s the Hat City on Tap Craft Beer Festival, and it’s happening on Saturday, October 12 a,t the Danbury Arena.

Why is it one of my favorites? Well, first and foremost, you can sample all the craft beer you want for four full hours at one low price. Plus, if you’d like an extra hour of fantastic beer sampling, then for a small upgrade fee, you can become a VIP to get five hours of sampling.

So let's get down to the basics. How many beers do you think you can really drink in that time frame with a sampling glass?

First, before we do that, please remember to drink responsibly. We want you to have a good time, but remember DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE. Bring a DD along, or call an Uber.

Now let’s try and calculate this. Each sampling glass is three ounces. A bottle of beer is typically twelve ounces. That means that approximately four samples are equal to one full beer.

Most people can go through four sample glasses in a matter of minutes, so that would mean that in say, five minutes, you would have finished one bottle of beer. So here's the good news, you still have three hours and 55 minutes left to drink. That’s a lot of beer.

At one of our Hat City on Tap events, I tried to get an idea of how many beers people drank. As you can see in the video below, the answer was not that easy to come by, but the results sure were hilarious:
