The horror suspense flick that was shot in Dover, Pawling, and Beacon, among other Hudson Valley locations, A Quiet Place starring John Krasinski and his wife Emily Blunt, was the number one movie at the box office nation-wide over the weekend. Box Office Mojo says it earned $50 Million Thursday through Sunday.

Critics gave it a 97% score on Rotten Tomatoes, which is really high. It made double the amount of money that Ready Player One did, which came in second place with a box office take of $25 million. Blockers clocked in at Number 3 with $21.4 million.

It’s showing here at the AMC Loews Danbury 16 theaters now, but I’ve only seen the trailer, which looks scary as hell.

The film was world premiered at South By South West, which is one of the most popular entertainment festivals in the nation, taking place yearly in Austin Texas. Click here to watch the trailer for the movie, but keep the lights on!
