Legendary Hip-Hop Gymnastics Routine Gets a ’10’ From the Whole World
If you're going to watch one gymnastic routine today, this is it.
UCLA senior gymnast Sophina DeJesus has gone viral with this wickedly fantastic routine she performed during a meet last weekend against Utah.
DeJesus's routine, which went against the grain of the traditional one you may expect to see, was flawless and is filled with hip-hop-inspired dance moves, including the whip, nae nae and the quan. It helped propel the fifth-ranked Bruins to a victory over the Utes.
DeJesus, who, ahem, whipped the adoring and supportive crowd into a tizzy, said, "I love dancing. I wanted to end my senior year with a bang."
While the internet loved DeJesus' moves, the judges didn't totally agree -- she scored a 9.925, which equaled her career high.
